About
The Bruins mountain bike team was formed in 2013 with students attending Ponderosa high school in Shingle Springs. The small team quickly became a dominate force consecutively winning the NorCal Division II Championship and taking 2nd place at the California State Championship in 2014 and 2015. They were recognized by a Proclamation from the El Dorado County Board of Supervisors in 2015 for their athletic achievements and community service. The co-ed team has grown into a division I team and continues to attract student athletes into the evolving sport of mountain biking.
