A great way to have fun testing yourself on the two Strava segments is race your PR via the Wahoo Bolt.  The Bolt will automatically tell you when you are nearing a segment that you have starred.  As you start the segment it will beep 1…2…3…go and then start a timer for the segment. On the screen it will also keep you up to date how many seconds ahead or behind you are.  The button in the middle of your Bolt will say VS it rotates who you are racing.  I recommend setting it to compete against your PR rather than the overall KOM. After the segment is done it will tell you how you did.

HOW TO DO THIS

You have to login to Strava on a computer to star a segment.  Click on the segment links below and then press the star to the left of the segment name and it will highlight orange.

Salmon Falls Segment

Billy Goat Segment

Turn on your Bolt head unit and then go to the ELEMNT app on your phone.  In the bottom right is a setting gear click on it. Scroll down to Strava Live Segments click on it and Enable all.

For this to work of course you have to have a Strava Premium account. Your standard Strava account is free.  If you want to try the premium, it is free the first month then $6 a month.  It’s worth it while you are training. My favorite feature of Strava Premium is the ability to test yourself against yourself (PR).

Here is a video to help you with not making a wrong turn on the Salmon Falls segment.
